Bakmi Godhog Mba Asih-Palagan Street

Bakmi Godhog (Javanese noodle with thick soup) is one of the legends in Javanese cuisine. It is one of the most popular Javanese food in almost all cities in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

For its popularity, I highly recommend you try this when you're exploring Yogyakarta. This dish is usually served by "Warung Bakmi Godhog" that are scattered throughout the City. Usually, a "Warung Bakmi Godhog" does not only serve Bakmi Godhod, but also Mie Goreng (fried noodle), Capcay Godhog/Goreng (vegetable in thick soup/marinated soupy vegetable), and Nasi Goreng (fried rice).

Warung Bakmi Godhog Mba Asih is one of the legendary Warung Bakmi Godhod in Yogyakarta. It is located in a small house on Jalan Palagan, around 50 to the north from Indoluxe Hotel Palagan. It is of course already tracked by Google Map, so it is not hard to find it. Here, I present you two main favorite dishes of the Warung, i.e. The Bakmi Godhog and The Bakmi Goreng.

Bakmi Godhog

This dish is basically a mix of noodle, so'un noodle, sliced tomato, chicken, fried onion and the thick soup made from a duck egg. It tastes savory and a little sweet, as this taste is dominant in all Javanese dishes. As it has soup it is good to eat it once you're feeling cold or when it is rainy. It warms up your body.

Bakmi Goreng

This dish is marinated, actually because it is not fried with a lot of oil. The ingredients are the same as those of Bakmi Godhod, but it is different in the cooking process. This one does not use soup that is made from a duck egg. So it is basically a marinated mix of noodle, a few vegetables and chicken. This is also delicious. As I said, once you are here in Yogyakarta, try them out. Feel the real taste of Javanese cuisine. You'll not regret.
