Sunday Visit to Royal Palace
Assalaamu'alaikum, wonderful people. This post shows photos of the Royal Palace of Yogyakarta that I took last Sunday. I went there with my daughter, wanting to show her the inheritance of Javanese Royal family in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Aside from the physical buildings, I also invited her to watch the dance performance, which I posted earlier. The buildings and performance make up the whole Palace as a harmonious entity of Javanese Royal Culture. The Palace is full of symbols, symbolic colours and intricate ornaments: on the walls, roofs, doors, windows, even ceilings. Even the courtyard also has trees called "Sawo Kecil" which means 'Sarwo Becik' that translates into all is good. To visit the Palace, an Indonesian adult is charged Rp.15.000,00 and a child is charged Rp.10.000,00.
