'Soto Ayam Pak Tur': A Look Not to Misjudge!

Wednesday morning (October 20, 2021), on the way to UMY for a morning walk, my wife showed me a 'warung soto' called 'Soto Pak Tur' on jalan Wates. It's somewhere not far from Rewulu gas station. The warung doesn't look big and fancy, but it was packed with people. She said she once tried the soto with her big brother on the way home from going somewhere. She said that it was good and very cheap.

Later that day, after we saw a landlord who offered a house for rent-to see the house, we got starving. Then, not knowing what and where to eat, a flash memory about the soto just came accross our minds. Not wanting to go to the warung on jalan Wates, which is really far from the house we visited, my wife searched for the same warung, and it turned out that there is one on jalan Godean.

It was quite hard to find it although we followed google map. After some time, we finally found it. It's exactly located on jalan Godean, approximately 10 meters to the west of gas station.

As I mentioned earlier, the warung is not the one you would expect to go to eat. It's small in size and looks slughtly untidy. There are only two long tables and some platic chairs.

At first we doubt the warung and a little underestimate it. However, when we had our first sip of the soup, we agreed that it is goooooood. It's a chicken soto, and tastes really good. I believe if you're a Javanese, you'll like it. We ate a bowl of chicken soto, a cracker, and a potato perkedel. Some sweet hot tea added to the 'joy' of eating soto that day. For all we ate, we spent only 24.000 Rupiahs. Isn't that crazy?

I want to conclude that although not housed by a fancy place, the soto is crazily good. 'Don't judge a book by its cover' is always true.
