Our Curiosity Fulfilled at "Soto Seger Boyolali Mbok Girah"

After tasting the delicacy of "Soto Seger Boyolali Mbok Yem" in Pengasih, Kulonprogo last week, which we agree to be literally "seger" (refreshing), my wife was a little obsessed with trying any other kinds of "Soto Seger Boyolali". Her search has led us to try the one called "Soto Seger Mbok Girah".

This soto is housed by a warung that's located on Jalan Kebon Agung, Seyegan, Sleman. The nearest easy-to-notice SMP 1 Seyegan (Seyegan 1 Junior High) is a good sign to guide you to find it. From the school, the warung is around 300 meters eastward, on the north of the street. If you're confused, google map would be of great help.

The warung offers two kinds of soto, i.e. chicken soto and beef one. As usual I picked the chicken and my wife the beef one. Various kinds of fries are also available such as tofu, tempe, and bakwan (mixed vegetables fries). Satay of various kinds are also available: jeroan (cow's innards), intestines, etc.

Talking about the taste, we agree that it's not that special as people write on google review. It is indeed refreshing, but not as special as the one we tried last week. No intention to compare, they are just of different style. However, the highlight is the fries. They are crunchy and tasty. The drinks are just normal: tea and orange. Overall, it's good and worth trying, but don't expect something very special.

For you to know, each dish's price is cheap. For a medium-sized bowl (they call it big though) chicken soto, it costs 8.000 Rupiahs. Then, for each fry, it costs 1.000 Rupiahs. And for the price of the other dishes, you'd better check it out yourself. Though not really special, but it'll give you another experience about the taste of "Soto Seger Boyolali".
