Ndoro Donker and & 'Kemuning' Tea Plantation

I would never expect that there's such a beautiful place in Karanganyar called 'Kemuning' tea plantation. Though it's not as large as the ones in West Java (or East Java, because most of Indonesia's tea plantations are located in both provinces), 'Kemuning' tea plantation becomes one of the tourist attractions in the Regency.

It's particularly located in the district of Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar Regency. From Solo, it takes an hour motorbike ride. The road leading to the plantation is quite smooth, but not as smooth as those of Jogja.

There are some restaurants offering variations of tea, but I think 'Ndoro Donker' is the most unique one. It adapts Colonial architecture and offers a semi-outdoor café concept where visitors could enjoy the view of the plantation while sipping the tea and eating the dishes.

There are various tastes, I can't even describe all, but when my friend and I went there for tea (of course), we ordered Italian Almond and Blackcurrant tea. Both of them are fresh and good just the way they are. (Because it was on a Saturday), there was a live music performance. Even the lobby is very beautifully decorated with all variations of tea and mugs where visitors can buy. Come and have a tea your self then feel the vibe of the tea plantation.
