Randu Alas: UNY's Small & Green Park
Assalaamu'alaikum, Wonderful people. Happy day and live your life to the fullest. Here is another 'park' that I sometimes go to on weekends whenever I need different atmosphere other than UGM's Wisdom Park.
This park sits on the campus I went for my undergrad study, UNY. It's called Randu Alas Park as at its middle point, there grows a Randu Alas tree (Bombax ceiba). This is not as large of Wisdom Park, but quite similarly green. It's also designed quite simple and modern where tropical trees and plants are arranged so as to create a green environment but still highlighting the Randu Alas tree.
The location is right off the west of UNY's main gate. In the park, there is also a jogging track, benches, and a few outdoor gym equipment that people can use for free. There is also a large enough grassy field where two big trees grow at its middle part, dividing the grassy area equally east and west. There is also a mini tribune and stage.
Every weekened there would be usually two groups of people having a fun gym, a group of cheerleading team has a practice, and another group of boys having a parkour practice. Although not as famous and crowded as Wisdom Park, while you live in Jogja, if you want a different place for exercising, come and visit the park. It's worth your consideration I believe.
