Vredeburg's New Look

Assalaamu'alaikum, wonderful people. How have you been doing? I hope good as always. Aamiin. BTW, please stay healthy and active.

This post is not something new, but an old thing with a new feature. As you can read in the title, it's only about Benteng Vredeburg, one of Jogja's iconic landmarks.

Strategically located right at the 0 km point, no wonder this place is always on people's list when visiting Jogja. The collection gives us pictures of Indonesians struggles when fighting against the colonialists, particularly those which took place in Jogja. And after being renovated a few years ago, it becomes more impressive. Painted in bone white, it looks majestically gorgeous.

Not only the main building, the Benteng currently has a public park. A few years ago, the park was closed for public. People could enter if only there were events at the Serangan Umum 1 Maret Monument. Aside from that, nobody was allowed to come in. However, when the pandemic broke out, the park was renovated. And by the time it was finished alhamdulillah the condition got better.

The park was built in the area where there are shady trees and green grasses. It is right between the main entrance and the Serangan Umum 1 Maret Monument. There is a playground equipped with some equipment like swings, slides, a climber, a spinner, and a sandpit. If you visit or have sometime in Jogja, make sure to take a look.

Benteng Vredeburg is now officially open for public. It's not free of charge, but don't worry. The admission ticket to the museum, including the park, costs only Rp.3.000,00. And there was no duration visit imitation, but it is normally closed. Thus, you can stay inside the complex as long as you want.

Wonderful people, if you want a nostalgic vibes, come and visit Benteng and enjoy it. Wassalaamu'alailum.
